Hello! I'm Artful Barista, AB for short and I am so glad you wandered into my cosy corner of the internet. Pull up a chair, the coffee's (almost) good but the stories are always served piping hot!

Here's the thing, the name might say Artful but the title arrived before the talent. I'm still on my way! I'm a work in progress with an espresso machine and a lot of opinions, documenting the beautiful, therapeutic and occasionally disastrous journey of learning to make truly great coffee — while also trying to figure out this whole life thing at the same time.

This blog is equal parts coffee diary, life journal and a love letter to the ritual of crafting a really good drink. It's for the curious, the caffeinated and anyone who finds themselves in the middle of becoming something, maybe not quite there yet, but foraging forward and enjoying the ride. Or at least trying to.

And when I'm not behind the counter, I'll be spewing and brewing from across the ocean. Sipping a matcha in Kyoto, a mint tea in Marrakech and a flat white in Melbourne. Collecting cups (and pics) like stamps in a passport, because the world is too beautiful and too full of extraordinary things to drink to stay in one place.

I might end up throwing myself into a coffee competition of some sort just to challenge myself and see what happens (terrifying, but we're going to do it). Mostly though? I'll be right here, brewing something, thinking too much and talking your ear off about everything and absolutely nothing.
